The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services requires a 40 hour curriculum. Yes, but not just any old training will do. The training must conform to the ministry requirements. For the Security Guard Basic Training it must be Instructor-led Web-based training.
As of April 15, 2010, the Ontario Ministry of Community Safety & Correctional Services Training & Testing Regulations are in effect. This means that in order to work as a security guard, you must first obtain your Security Guard License by completing the following:
